Me & Mine
I'm a mother to an incredible little girl. She has her father's eyes and the most amazing laugh I've ever heard. I have the best partner in the world. He is my best friend and has my back no matter what (especially when I'm being crazy). Then there’s our wonderful set of tabby siblings. Muta, our lazy, loud, moody, cuddly orange boy. And Kame, our spazzy, doesn’t want to be held, cuddles at 5 in the morning, gray girl.
Three humans, two cats. Five creatures we are.

My family is my life and inspiration. I capture as much of it as I can. I want to remember everything. The silly days, the sad days and the absolutely insane days. The cries, the smiles and everything in between.
We are so happy and grateful to call the PNW our home.

Little Things
I love matcha, margaritas and food, all the food (I eat...a lot). I have seven tattoos and plans for many more. I put my whole self into everything I do. I stumble often but rarely fall. Rain makes me happy, and autumn is my favorite. I love to dance, sing and laugh until it hurts. My mind is in the clouds, but my feet are on the ground.

My Photo Journey
My dad gave me my first camera when I was 11 and I've been shooting ever since.
There's something special about capturing a moment with light, freezing it in time. Seeing something average in a totally different way. I love looking at the world through my lens to find new ways to see things and to encourage a new thought process.
When I first started out, I photographed anything and everything. Clouds, my dog, rocks and more clouds. Then I discovered how much I love to photograph people. I loved thinking up fun and funky photo shoots to do with my sisters and friends. I still do a little bit of everything, but humans are my passion.
When I was in my early 20s, I bought my first DSLR. A Canon 70d. My passion and inspiration lit up and I did my first 365 photo project. I took a photo every day and blogged about it. It was the first huge project I ever finished. I learned a lot that year.
I’ve done multiple 365s since then. When I was pregnant, I decided to get rid of all social media. I didn’t want to put my daughter on the internet until she was able to have a say. My projects became private. Instead of blogging online, I made photo journals on my computer.
I'm always learning. I'm a firm believer in that you are never done. There's always a new trick or technique. Something I haven't done before that I have so much fun diving into and figuring out. Recently, after 15 years of using the same camera, I gave myself permission to upgrade. I traded in all of my gear and bought a
Sony a7c II and an awesome 85mm portrait lens. I am now learning a whole new system. It has re-sparked my excitement and I’m having so much fun!

Professional Hobbyist
Over the years I’ve waffled with the idea of making money with my photography and I always come back to the same realization. When money becomes involved, my passion, my love of creating beautiful moments and sharing them, turns into stress. I take photos because it makes me happy. The experiences, the shots, the emotions and memories. I can’t put a price on that.

My photography is as much for me as is it for my subjects. I get so much joy out of it, and I love sharing that joy. I love showing people how beautiful they are. Helping them see their beauty for themselves. Giving them an experience that we can remember and look back on. I just want to do nice things for my fellow humans. No strings attached.
I would love getting to know you and to capture your best, real life, moments. That smile you have when you don't know I'm looking, that genuine laugh or the rawness of a bad day. It's all beautiful. Life is a crazy, wonderful and an insanely hard adventure. I don't just capture the staged smiles.
I wait for the real ones. The smiles that touch your eyes.
The smiles that you will look back on for years to come and know that you were truly happy.
